High School Leadership - High School Leadership Become a Mentor, Program Leader, Summer Counselor, or Community Service Volunteer and Make a Difference! Are you a high school student who enjoys working with kids, giving back to your community, or earning community service hours in a meaningful way? Join us and connect with middle school youth (grades 6–8) through fun, supportive, and rewarding opportunities. We offer four exciting ways for students to get involved: Mentor, Program Leader, Summer Counselor, and Community Service opportunities—including both drop-in and project-based service options.
Mentor (Volunteer Position)
Support staff-led programs and help create a welcoming space for middle school youth. As a mentor, you’ll:
Engage with students through games, sports, and daily activities
Provide homework help and positive encouragement
Build relationships and serve as a role model
Ages: 14+ during the school year | 15+ for summerCommitment: Regular, long-term volunteer hoursCompensation: Volunteer/unpaid, with potential for future paid positions
Program Leader (Creative/Leadership Role)
Do you have a special skill, hobby, or passion you'd love to teach? Program Leaders develop and lead their own activities for youth, with staff support. Past programs have included:ArcheryCosmetologySpeech & DebateDungeons & Dragons As a Program Leader, you’ll:
Design and lead your own weekly class or activity
Share your skills with middle school students
Build confidence, leadership, and planning experience

Summer Counselor (Paid Staff Position)

Outer Limits - Outer Limits Session 2 (7/7-7/11) We are excited to be holding the Outer Limits again this summer at the Cormier Youth Center!Participants will be able to choose from a few activities that are set for the day that can range from organized games outdoors or in the gym, arts & crafts activities, chance to play music, team building activities, cooking and more!You can bring a lunch with you or we will be offering a limited amount of hot meals.We ask that you preregister for any lunches because we will only have a limited number of meals available. Lunch Schedule for the summer (Bundle includes a bag of chips and a Capri Sun or water):
Every Monday: Pizza Bundle
Every Tuesday: Hot Dog Bundle
Every Wednesday: Burger, Cheeseburger, Veggie Burger Bundle
Every Thursday: Chicken Nugget Bundle
In the afternoon, we highly encourage our participants to head off site to an outdoor location. We will have designated days to swim and fish at Pomp's Pond in Andover, go to the Greater Lawrence Boating Club to sail, canoe, and kayak! We will also take trips and utilize the abundance of trails and waterfronts located in or around the Andover area to go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc.Fridays are "Field Trip Friday"! Each week we will go on a different field trip and will receive a special AYS t shirt to help identify our youth while off site. (*Each participant will receive 1 shirt for the summer*) Field trips are included in the price of the program. Youth are allowed to bring extra money to buy additional food or do other activities that may have to be paid for additionally. (Field trips will be listed once they are all finalized)Summer School Student - Half Day Option. This is an offering to those students that will be in school during the morning. The program will run from 12-3:30pm with the field trip included. Please reach out ays@andoverma.us if you have any questions about the program. Once you register, we will touch base to coordinate further details that we should be aware about.Register for 6 weeks of Outer Limits and receive a 10% discount ($240). If you register for all 7 weeks, you will receive one week free! Outer Limits - Outer Limits Session 3 (7/14-7/18) We are excited to be holding the Outer Limits again this summer at the Cormier Youth Center!Participants will be able to choose from a few activities that are set for the day that can range from organized games outdoors or in the gym, arts & crafts activities, chance to play music, team building activities, cooking and more!You can bring a lunch with you or we will be offering a limited amount of hot meals.We ask that you preregister for any lunches because we will only have a limited number of meals available. Lunch Schedule for the summer (Bundle includes a bag of chips and a Capri Sun or water):

Every Tuesday: Hot Dog Bundle
Every Wednesday: Burger, Cheeseburger, Veggie Burger Bundle
Every Thursday: Chicken Nugget Bundle
In the afternoon, we highly encourage our participants to head off site to an outdoor location. We will have designated days to swim and fish at Pomp's Pond in Andover, go to the Greater Lawrence Boating Club to sail, canoe, and kayak! We will also take trips and utilize the abundance of trails and waterfronts located in or around the Andover area to go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc.Fridays are "Field Trip Friday"! Each week we will go on a different field trip and will receive a special AYS t shirt to help identify our youth while off site. (*Each participant will receive 1 shirt for the summer*) Field trips are included in the price of the program. Youth are allowed to bring extra money to buy additional food or do other activities that may have to be paid for additionally. (Field trips will be listed once they are all finalized)Summer School Student - Half Day Option. This is an offering to those students that will be in school during the morning. Each week we will go on a different field trip and will receive a special AYS t shirt to help identify our youth while off site. (*Each participant will receive 1 shirt for the summer*) Field trips are included in the price of the program. Outer Limits - Outer Limits Session 4 (7/21-7/25) We are excited to be holding the Outer Limits again this summer at the Cormier Youth Center!Participants will be able to choose from a few activities that are set for the day that can range from organized games outdoors or in the gym, arts & crafts activities, chance to play music, team building activities, cooking and more!You can bring a lunch with you or we will be offering a limited amount of hot meals.We ask that you preregister for any lunches because we will only have a limited number of meals available. Lunch Schedule for the summer (Bundle includes a bag of chips and a Capri Sun or water):
Every Monday: Pizza Bundle
Every Tuesday: Hot Dog Bundle
Every Wednesday: Burger, Cheeseburger, Veggie Burger Bundle
Every Thursday: Chicken Nugget Bundle
In the afternoon, we highly encourage our participants to head off site to an outdoor location. We will have designated days to swim and fish at Pomp's Pond in Andover, go to the Greater Lawrence Boating Club to sail, canoe, and kayak! We will also take trips and utilize the abundance of trails and waterfronts located in or around the Andover area to go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc.Fridays are "Field Trip Friday"! Each week we will go on a different field trip and will receive a special AYS t shirt to help identify our youth while off site. (*Each participant will receive 1 shirt for the summer*) Field trips are included in the price of the program. Youth are allowed to bring extra money to buy additional food or do other activities that may have to be paid for additionally. (Field trips will be listed once they are all finalized)Summer School Student - Half Day Option. This is an offering to those students that will be in school during the morning. The program will run from 12-3:30pm with the field trip included. Please reach out ays@andoverma.us if you have any questions about the program. Once you register, we will touch base to coordinate further details that we should be aware about.Register for 6 weeks of Outer Limits and receive a 10% discount ($240). We offer four exciting ways for students to get involved: Mentor, Program Leader, Summer Counselor, and Community Service opportunities—including both drop-in and project-based service options.
Mentor (Volunteer Position)
Support staff-led programs and help create a welcoming space for middle school youth. As a mentor, you’ll:
Engage with students through games, sports, and daily activities
Provide homework help and positive encouragement
Build relationships and serve as a role model
Ages: 14+ during the school year | 15+ for summerCommitment: Regular, long-term volunteer hoursCompensation: Volunteer/unpaid, with potential for future paid positions

Each week we will go on a different field trip and will receive a special AYS t shirt to help identify our youth while off site. (*Each participant will receive 1 shirt for the summer*) Field trips are included in the price of the program. Youth are allowed to bring extra money to buy additional food or do other activities that may have to be paid for additionally. Outer Limits - Outer Limits Session 4 (7/21-7/25) We are excited to be holding the Outer Limits again this summer at the Cormier Youth Center!Participants will be able to choose from a few activities that are set for the day that can range from organized games outdoors or in the gym, arts & crafts activities, chance to play music, team building activities, cooking and more!You can bring a lunch with you or we will be offering a limited amount of hot meals.We ask that you preregister for any lunches because we will only have a limited number of meals available. We will also take trips and utilize the abundance of trails and waterfronts located in or around the Andover area to go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc.Fridays are "Field Trip Friday"! Each week we will go on a different field trip and will receive a special AYS t shirt to help identify our youth while off site. (*Each participant will receive 1 shirt for the summer*) Field trips are included in the price of the program. Youth are allowed to bring extra money to buy additional food or do other activities that may have to be paid for additionally. (Field trips will be listed once they are all finalized)Summer School Student - Half Day Option. This is an offering to those students that will be in school during the morning. Mentor (Volunteer Position)
Support staff-led programs and help create a welcoming space for middle school youth. As a mentor, you’ll:

Outer Limits - Outer Limits Session 5 (7/28-8/1) We are excited to be holding the Outer Limits again this summer at the Cormier Youth Center!Participants will be able to choose from a few activities that are set for the day that can range from organized games outdoors or in the gym, arts & crafts activities, chance to play music, team building activities, cooking and more!You can bring a lunch with you or we will be offering a limited amount of hot meals.We ask that you preregister for any lunches because we will only have a limited number of meals available. Lunch Schedule for the summer (Bundle includes a bag of chips and a Capri Sun or water):
Every Monday: Pizza Bundle
Every Tuesday: Hot Dog Bundle
Every Wednesday: Burger, Cheeseburger, Veggie Burger Bundle
Every Thursday: Chicken Nugget Bundle
In the afternoon, we highly encourage our participants to head off site to an outdoor location. We will have designated days to swim and fish at Pomp's Pond in Andover, go to the Greater Lawrence Boating Club to sail, canoe, and kayak! We will also take trips and utilize the abundance of trails and waterfronts located in or around the Andover area to go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc.Fridays are "Field Trip Friday"! Each week we will go on a different field trip and will receive a special AYS t shirt to help identify our youth while off site. (*Each participant will receive 1 shirt for the summer*) Field trips are included in the price of the program. Youth are allowed to bring extra money to buy additional food or do other activities that may have to be paid for additionally. (Field trips will be listed once they are all finalized)Summer School Student - Half Day Option. This is an offering to those students that will be in school during the morning. The program will run from 12-3:30pm with the field trip included. Please reach out ays@andoverma.us if you have any questions about the program. Once you register, we will touch base to coordinate further details that we should be aware about.Register for 6 weeks of Outer Limits and receive a 10% discount ($240). If you register for all 7 weeks, you will receive one week free! High School Leadership - High School Leadership Become a Mentor, Program Leader, Summer Counselor, or Community Service Volunteer and Make a Difference! Are you a high school student who enjoys working with kids, giving back to your community, or earning community service hours in a meaningful way? Join us and connect with middle school youth (grades 6–8) through fun, supportive, and rewarding opportunities. We offer four exciting ways for students to get involved: Mentor, Program Leader, Summer Counselor, and Community Service opportunities—including both drop-in and project-based service options.
Mentor (Volunteer Position)
Support staff-led programs and help create a welcoming space for middle school youth. As a mentor, you’ll:
Engage with students through games, sports, and daily activities
Provide homework help and positive encouragement
Build relationships and serve as a role model
Ages: 14+ during the school year | 15+ for summerCommitment: Regular, long-term volunteer hoursCompensation: Volunteer/unpaid, with potential for future paid positions
Program Leader (Creative/Leadership Role)
