Are you a high school student who enjoys working with kids, giving back to your community, or earning community service hours in a meaningful way? Join us and connect with middle school youth (grades 6–8) through fun, supportive, and rewarding opportunities.
We offer
four exciting ways for students to get involved:
Mentor,
Program Leader,
Summer Counselor, and
Community Service opportunities—including both drop-in and project-based service options.
Mentor (Volunteer Position)
Support staff-led programs and help create a welcoming space for middle school youth.
As a mentor, you’ll:
- Engage with students through games, sports, and daily activities
- Provide homework help and positive encouragement
- Build relationships and serve as a role model
Ages: 14+ during the school year | 15+ for summer
Commitment: Regular, long-term volunteer hours
Compensation: Volunteer/unpaid, with potential for future paid positions
Program Leader (Creative/Leadership Role)
Do you have a special skill, hobby, or passion you'd love to teach? Program Leaders develop and lead their own activities for youth, with staff support.
Past programs have included:
Archery
Cosmetology
Speech & Debate
Dungeons & Dragons
As a Program Leader, you’ll:
- Design and lead your own weekly class or activity
- Share your skills with middle school students
- Build confidence, leadership, and planning experience
Ages: 14+ (with commitment and experience)
Commitment: Seasonal or year-round opportunities
Compensation: May begin as volunteer with potential for paid position
Summer Counselor (Paid Staff Position)
Looking for a full-time summer job working with kids? Our
Summer Counselor role is a great paid opportunity for students who are enthusiastic, responsible, and ready to lead!
As a counselor, you’ll:
- Supervise and engage middle school youth in daily summer camp activities
- Support program planning and implementation
- Be part of a fun, collaborative team environment
Ages: 16+
Schedule: Monday–Friday, day hours during the summer months
Compensation: Paid position
Drop-In Community ServicePerfect for students who want to help occasionally without committing to a regular schedule.
- Preset Drop-In Dates (registration not required)
- School Year only
- 2.5-hour shifts available between 3:30PM-6PM or 3PM-5:30PM
- Great for earning hours quickly in a single shift
- One-time commitment
Ages: High School
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Pre-Set Days Only
Compensation: Volunteer
Community Service ProjectsIdeal for students looking for slightly more involvement—still flexible, but with more structured volunteer opportunities.
- Participate in organized community service projects
- Various off-site locations and community spaces
- 1–2 shifts max
- Work with staff and peers to support youth and community needs
- Short-term involvement with 1–2 shifts per project
- Projects scheduled throughout the school year and summer
