Andover Youth Services provides daily shuttle service from Wood Hill, Andover High School, and West Middle School. Registration is required in advance in order to provide the right number of shuttles and maintain the safety of all passengers. Participants will learn the basics of archery. Safety rules, proper archery form, and skills. In each class, we will build to improve form through practice, archery games, and a small competition! Science from Scientists (SciSci) is an award-winning non-profit specializing in scientist-led STEM education. (K-2 Grade) Get a Clue: Become a Detective - Gather clues and investigate the hidden evidence to solve a mock crime in this 6 week forensic science series. Lift fingerprints, decode and analyze ransom notes, extract DNA from real samples and catalyze chemical reactions to uncover the secrets and solve the mystery. Real scientists guide youth through hands-on, minds-on activities to catch the culprit!(3-5 Grade) Re-Design Club: Become an Engineer -Get ready for an adventure of engineering and creativity in this immerse 6 week design series. Craft together innovations of simple machines that test repeatability and perseverance. Architect Mars Rovers that utilize heat shields, parachutes, and payload protection. Grades K-8 (Co-Ed)This recreational flag football league is open to children who wish to learn fundamentals, skills, and enjoyment of football without the contact. This fun, recreational league is open to all levels and will enhance understanding, build on skills, positioning, ball handling, passing/receiving, and running.Children will be placed on teams based on grade. Each team will meet once a week to have a short practice before playing their games. This program will NOT run over Memorial Day Weekend.Team SelectionTo achieve balanced competition, REC will place athletes on teams. Unfortunately, Recreation will not honor requests for this program, including coaching requests. Science from Scientists (SciSci) is an award-winning non-profit specializing in scientist-led STEM education. (K-2 Grade) Get a Clue: Become a Detective - Gather clues and investigate the hidden evidence to solve a mock crime in this 6 week forensic science series. Lift fingerprints, decode and analyze ransom notes, extract DNA from real samples and catalyze chemical reactions to uncover the secrets and solve the mystery. Real scientists guide youth through hands-on, minds-on activities to catch the culprit!(3-5 Grade) Re-Design Club: Become an Engineer -Get ready for an adventure of engineering and creativity in this immerse 6 week design series. Craft together innovations of simple machines that test repeatability and perseverance. Architect Mars Rovers that utilize heat shields, parachutes, and payload protection. Craft together innovations of simple machines that test repeatability and perseverance. Architect Mars Rovers that utilize heat shields, parachutes, and payload protection. This program will introduce participants to the game of rugby. Admired around the world, rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in America and its popularity is expected to skyrocket in the next decade as the US prepares to host the Rugby World Cup. Andover Youth Rugby (AYR) will work to foster an appreciation for different athletic cultures, as well as develop a teamwork-based and strategic mindset in the young players. This is a unique opportunity to expose children to a productive recreational exploit that they could enjoy for the rest of their lives.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER MAY 20THComplete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest by jumping into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs,  Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of bothThis course is designed to prepare lifeguard candidates to prevent, recognize, respond, and manage aquatic emergencies, breathing and cardiac emergencies, and standard first aid injury and illness emergencies. Course includes: Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Standard First Aid. DEADLINE TO REGISTER MAY 20THComplete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest by jumping into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs,  Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of bothThis course is designed to prepare lifeguard candidates to prevent, recognize, respond, and manage aquatic emergencies, breathing and cardiac emergencies, and standard first aid injury and illness emergencies. Course includes: Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Standard First Aid. Science from Scientists (SciSci) is an award-winning non-profit specializing in scientist-led STEM education. (K-2 Grade) Get a Clue: Become a Detective - Gather clues and investigate the hidden evidence to solve a mock crime in this 6 week forensic science series. Lift fingerprints, decode and analyze ransom notes, extract DNA from real samples and catalyze chemical reactions to uncover the secrets and solve the mystery. Real scientists guide youth through hands-on, minds-on activities to catch the culprit!(3-5 Grade) Re-Design Club: Become an Engineer -Get ready for an adventure of engineering and creativity in this immerse 6 week design series. Craft together innovations of simple machines that test repeatability and perseverance. Architect Mars Rovers that utilize heat shields, parachutes, and payload protection. Mouth guards are mandatory. Cleats or sneakers with good traction are recommended, but not required. 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM    Youth Rugby - Andover Youth Rugby Clinic
This program will introduce participants to the game of rugby. Admired around the world, rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in America and its popularity is expected to skyrocket in the next decade as the US prepares to host the Rugby World Cup. Andover Youth Rugby (AYR) will work to foster an appreciation for different athletic cultures, as well as develop a teamwork-based and strategic mindset in the young players. This is a unique opportunity to expose children to a productive recreational exploit that they could enjoy for the rest of their lives.
 
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Adult Outdoor Pickleball - Introduction to Pickleball
Please note that for each activity below, registration is limited to one session per participant due to high demandIntroduction to PickleballWant to try the fastest growing sport in America? This introductory class is the one to take. Pickleball is a cross between badminton, tennis and table tennis. Players will be taught the basic rules, common skills needed and safety guidelines. You will be having fun and playing games by the end of class! All equipment is provided.

Grades K-8 (Co-Ed)This recreational flag football league is open to children who wish to learn fundamentals, skills, and enjoyment of football without the contact. This fun, recreational league is open to all levels and will enhance understanding, build on skills, positioning, ball handling, passing/receiving, and running.Children will be placed on teams based on grade. Each team will meet once a week to have a short practice before playing their games. This program will NOT run over Memorial Day Weekend.Team SelectionTo achieve balanced competition, REC will place athletes on teams. Unfortunately, Recreation will not honor requests for this program, including coaching requests. Siblings will be placed together if they are in the appropriate age group and coaches will be placed with their child(ren).EquipmentAll registered participants will receive a t-shirt and a mouth guard to keep. Mouth guards are mandatory. Cleats or sneakers with good traction are recommended, but not required.
