All Day Discovery will give children an experience that will last a lifetime, by providing days full of exciting activities and fun adventures! Participants will be grouped by grade as follows: Grades K-2, Grades 3-4, Grades 5-6. Each day participants will be dropped off at South School for the morning, spend the afternoon at Pomps Pond and head back to South School to end the day. Each week, participants will partake in group and individual activities including, but not limited to: arts & crafts, sports games, free choice periods, playground games, swimming (swim lesson included) and boating. Please bring a lunch, water bottle, snack, bathing suit, sunscreen and a towel each day. Please label all belongings. *NEW THIS YEAR - Field trips are back for children entering grades 4-6! Age 8-17Gaming will never be the same again! In our 2D & 3D Game Design camp, you'll use the popular Godot/Unity platform to make your own realistic game assets. You'll learn various techniques such as animation, modeling, texturing, and rendering complex 3D models to make fun, multi-level games. At the end of the course, you will move from beginner to expert level!Program Outcomes: At the end of the week, each participant will have a completed project in Unity/Godot and be able to execute their game on their device. Participants will have learned many important skills of object oriented design, 3D game design, scripting, animations, and problem solving skills.This program is run by CodeWiz through Andover Recreation.

Anyone can build a game in Roblox! Roblox studio has all the tools to make your wildest gaming imaginations a reality. You tell us what game you want to make and we'll teach you the fundamentals and coach you through bringing that game to life! Whether you're new to coding or have some experience, you will be challenged and have fun while bringing your game to life. Through drag and drop techniques or pure scripting, you’ll be creating extensions to the Roblox game while fostering your creativity and learning real-world computer coding.Program Outcomes: At the end of your program, your child will have a completed Roblox project(s) which they will be able to play online and be able to show off to their friends. Your child will learn problem solving skills, managing a game from the ground up, will learn how to work with different coding concepts such as variables, objects, and writing proper syntax all while managing their very own game!This program is run by CodeWiz through Andover Recreation.

Age 8-12Explore, create or survive! Mine deep into the Minecraft world and create the future! In this creative camp, challenge the odds, craft your own kinds of weapons and build dream worlds using code. Do this while also learning fundamental programming concepts, level design, and problem-solving skills. You will make use of ready-made coding blocks to create mini versions of Minecraft games.Program Outcomes: During the program, each participant will create their own projects utilizing ready made coding blocks. By the end of the week each participant will be able to show off all of their code in one world! Each student will have knowledge of programming concepts, Minecraft modding, and complete many mini projects!This program is run by CodeWiz through Andover Recreation.

Age 6-11Enjoy an explosively fun exploration of geology, physics and chemistry as you become a Junior Volcanologist! Build your own working volcano and see examples of huge volcanic eruptions. Each day the kids will explore up to 20 weird and wacky hands-on science experiments and will make and take home at least 10 different projects. The scientists are fast paced and funny and your kids will be thoroughly entertained (they’ll even learn some interesting things too). We will explore weird motions and flying things, air and water pressure; crazy chemistry, light and sound, science magic, electricity, magnets, astronomy and more. Be prepared for lots of fun stuff. Each child receives a Free Top Secret Science Tee Shirt! A wonderful 6 hours of science each day. There will be 50% new projects from last summer. All Day Discovery will give children an experience that will last a lifetime, by providing days full of exciting activities and fun adventures! Participants will be grouped by grade as follows: Grades K-2, Grades 3-4, Grades 5-6. Each day participants will be dropped off at South School for the morning, spend the afternoon at Pomps Pond and head back to South School to end the day. Each week, participants will partake in group and individual activities including, but not limited to: arts & crafts, sports games, free choice periods, playground games, swimming (swim lesson included) and boating. Please bring a lunch, water bottle, snack, bathing suit, sunscreen and a towel each day. Please label all belongings. *NEW THIS YEAR - Field trips are back for children entering grades 4-6! Cost of field trips TBD*Early Drop Off is back! Drop your child off as early as 7:30am at Rec Park. All Day Discovery staff will walk your child to South Elementary for 8:30am each day. Grades K-5Come join this very cool and fun elementary school summer program! Over the past 30 years, Top Secret Science (www.TopSecretKids.org) has worked hands-on with over 2 million local children. Each day the kids will explore up to 20 weird and wacky hands-on science experiments and will make and take home at least 10 different projects. The scientists are fast paced and funny and your kids will be thoroughly entertained (they’ll even learn some interesting things too). We will explore weird motions and flying things, air and water pressure; crazy chemistry, light and sound, science magic, electricity, magnets, astronomy and more. Be prepared for lots of fun stuff. Each child receives a Free Top Secret Science Tee Shirt! A wonderful 6 hours of science each day. There will be 50% new projects from last summer.
