Community Service Summer Program
Make a Difference This Summer!
This summer, make a real impact on your local community while having fun exploring new places! The Community Service Summer Program is designed for children entering grades 6-9 who are eager to engage in hands-on service projects, enjoy outdoor adventures, and build lasting memories.
Program Options:
- Half Day: Monday-Thursday, 9 AM - 11:30 AM ($150)
- Full Day: Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 3:30 PM ($325)
Program Overview:
Half Day Option (Monday-Thursday, 9 AM - 11:30 AM)
Each morning, participants will engage in meaningful community service projects, such as:
- Working in the Community Garden
- Assisting with Meals on Wheels
- Partnering with a local nursing home for Bingo Buddies to connect with seniors
- Helping with Community Meal Services
- Providing Food Pantry Assistance
These projects provide hands-on opportunities to give back while experiencing the direct impact of your efforts. Please note they are subject to change as we coordinate activities for this summer.
Full Day Option (Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 3:30 PM)
For those who want to extend their day of service, the Outer Limits Summer Program offers exciting activities in the afternoons, from 12 PM - 3:30 PM. Youth would be able to participate in the remainder of the Outer Limits afternoon activities.
Afternoon Adventures Include:
- Swimming & Fishing at Pomp's Pond (Andover)
- Boating at the Greater Lawrence Boating Club (sailing, canoeing, kayaking
- Outdoor Activities such as relaxing at Rabbits Pond or playing games by the waterfront
- Field Trip Fridays – Each Friday, participants will head out on an exciting field trip (locations finalized closer to the program’s start- current trip planned is Dave and Busters).
Mondays- participants stay on site and take part in activities.
Tuesday-Thursday- participants make use of off-site options. Please note available sites of subject to change as we coordinate scheduling.
Friday- participants go to an off site field trip at Dave and Busters. Transportation and entry cost is included in pricing. Participants will be given a basic spending card for activities and provided lunch on site.
Important Note for Full Day Participants:
- Participants in the full-day program who wish to take part in swimming or boating activities will be required to pass a swim test. This ensures every one's safety during water-based activities.
- Additional expenses- if participants want to purchase snacks through AYS concessions, off site concessions or on the field trips they should bring additional spending money.
- Full Day Spirit Week Theme:
- Full Day Lunch Option: Participants attending the full-day program can either bring their own lunch or enjoy a hot meal prepared by the chef from the Robb Center. Pre-registration is required for the lunch option, and availability is limited.

Additional Details:
- Two T-Shirts Included: All participants will receive two program t-shirts to wear during community service and field trips.
- Application Requirement:
Each participant must submit a letter with their application sharing why they want to join the program and any relevant experience. Experience is not required! We welcome all kids who are passionate about community service.
- Completion Letter & Recommendation:
At the end of the program, participants will receive a letter documenting their completed service hours and a recommendation letter highlighting their contributions to the community.
