Rec Basketball - Senior League • Register • View Cart •

Boys & Girls Grades 2-12
This town-wide basketball league is open to children who live in or attend school in Andover (Grades 6-8 Girls Division, Grades 9-12 Girls Division and Grades 9-12 Boys Division are open to non-residents). Each team will have one practice and one game per week. All practices are held Monday-Thursday between 5:00-8:00pm at various school gyms around town (make up practices for cancellations will be held on Fridays). Grades 2-3 practices are 45 minutes long and grades 4-12 practices are 60 minutes long. Grades 2-3 play on shorter 9 foot hoops - all other divisions grades 4-12 play on regulation 10 foot hoops. All games will be held on Saturdays between 12:00-8:00pm at the Andover High School Field House (see tentative game schedule below).

Player evaluation will take place on Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th. Players only need to attend one session. Coaches will evaluate all players in their division to assist the Recreation Department in better balancing player skill across each team. Players who do not attend will be placed based on years of experience, ability level, and previous season coach rating (as applicable).

Coaches clinic will take place on Saturday, November 23rd including all players. Coaches will meet their players, receive their team equipment bags and uniforms, and have an hour long training session with their teams, led by Jeff Nelson. 

Boys/Girls Alternate Practice Night Option: THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL REGISTRATION. Please only select this option if your child 100% cannot attend either of the current scheduled practice nights. We are trying to assess how many children would like to participate in the program but cannot due to other commitments. A decision as to whether we'll be able to add additional practice nights will be made by Friday, November 8th.
