The CIT program will run in conjunction with four of our popular summer programs: Rec Park Playground, All Day Discovery, Beach Buddies, and Warrior Sports which run for seven weeks. Once CITs have applied and have been accepted, they can register for the specific week or weeks they would like to attend. Andover Recreation staff will ultimately determine which program CITs will be placed. Applicants may note their preferred location on their application, but these requests are not guaranteed.
Through supervised group leadership opportunities, CITs will learn the skills and responsibilities that are required to become an effective leader. While CITs are not technically staff members, they are treated with the utmost respect and are trained to potentially take on the role of a counselor in the future. Please note that participation in this program does NOT guarantee being hired as a staff member. CITs take from the program what they put into it.
Interested participants can download the CIT Application Packet from our website AndoverRec.com beginning on February 4. CITs should thoughtfully fill out the Application Packet in its entirety and return it in person to the Andover Recreation office at 36 Bartlet Street by the April 4 deadline. Applications will not be reviewed if they are incomplete.
